ACTIVISM
FROM OCTOBER 16 - NOVEMBER 16, 2025
ESPACE VANDERBORGHT RUE DE L'ECUYER 50, 1000 BRUSSELS
The CNN199 exhibition is an immersive journey into the world of graffiti and street art in Brussels, tracing 35 years of the collective’s history. Hosted in an urban venue transformed into a creative laboratory for a month, it explores the evolution of graffiti—from its rebellious beginnings in the 1980s to its recognition as contemporary art.
Visitors will discover a wide range of mediums: live murals, immersive installations, canvases, digital projections, and calligraphy, all showcasing the collective’s inventiveness. The exhibition celebrates creativity, the diversity of styles, and technical innovation while honoring graffiti’s cultural and rebellious heritage.
Beyond aesthetics, it aims to raise awareness of the social and cultural issues tied to street art: encouraging dialogue, combating racism and xenophobia, and promoting tolerance and respect. Workshops and participatory activities will engage the public, and the event will also serve as a catalyst for publishing a book recounting CNN199’s history, members, and impact.
